Moving on .....

The end of the year snuck up on me. Life has been kind of like log rolling lately -- I just try to keep up with it. I don't dare get ahead or behind or I'll fall into the brink. But as today is the last day of 2013, I realized this morning that I needed to choose a word for the coming year ..... and I also realized I couldn't remember 2013's word. Ooops. So I had to go back and reread my New Year's post to find out what word was supposed to be had been guiding my year.

Ha! Whether I remembered it or not, it was the perfect word (phrase) for 2013. (I still don't know 2014's word, but I will by tomorrow night.) Just goes to show you don't have to meditate on that magic word for it to manifest change in your life.

Have you chosen a word for 2014 yet? Are you going to?

  1. i think my word for 2014 will be "out." letting my feelings out about situations instead of pinning them up so they won't offend anyone. getting out of situations and habits that hurt me or hold me down. getting out of my own head more, getting out of the house more, taking out the trash more ;) what do you think?

also, i'd forgotten that you drew a card for me last year. it's funny - didn't make sense at the time, but you said i'd get a message about an intellectual or academic pursuit. later in the year, dr. sharma emailed me to let me know i was only 3 classes away from finishing my master's degree. suddenly i had a timeline and some sense of urgency. so the card was right! i'm not done yet, but commencement is may 3 :D

    1. "Out" actually crossed my mind, but it didn't stick. Obviously I was channeling YOUR word. ;-) Seriously, I think there's a lot you can work with. I plan to do some art work around my word this year too. That will help me remember it.

I can't explain the cards, but time after time they work. Early congratulations!

  2. Last year's word was great! Can't wait to see what this year's is. I think mine will be, "Unconditional self-love."

    1. You can't go wrong with that one. Maybe get a t-shirt to remind anybody who tries to tear you down that you are going to love yourself no matter what their issues are.

  3. Love this idea. I'm going to do it. Sometime this month. And when I get over this frickin' virus I may do that thing with the cards. Two different sets of my kids got me two different Tarot decks this year. How cool is that? PS I can't wait to hear your word/phrase for this year.

    1. I'm still struggling with making time to write. This is what happens when I'm teaching or getting ready to teach. I will write today though, because school was cancelled due to cold and ice.

It would be interesting to draw a card from each deck and see how they work together.
